2.  The mom doesn't quit show yet may be feeling queasy and need a bigger bra size. Morning sickness may begin to occur.

3.  The chance of having twins or triplets is 1 in 100.

4.  You choose your doctor with one you are comfortable with and same with your mid-wife. You can have a baby at home but it is healthier to have one at a hospital.

5.   - Eat healthy
      - Do not over do anything
      - Don't drink
       - Don't smoke

Mommy and Daddy Day 1

1.  The blastocyst that is the baby splits to form the placenta and the embryo, and the specialized parts of the baby's body begin to develop.

2. Some things in the moms body that might be happening are exhibiting like bloating, cramping, and mood swings that feel similar to premenstrual symptoms, also experience a common light pink, red, or brown spotting that can occur when the egg settles into your uterus, and  might feel a little pressure in your abdomen  and  breasts may feel a little tender and become even bigger. The Dad will also have emotional changes.

3. Start to think about changing the way the parents eat and what they do. To not drink or smoke, also eat more healthy.

Position Paper

"Should there be government regulations requiring genetically engineered foods to be labeled?"

1.    Yes there should be regulations requiring genetically engineered foods to be labled. The goverment should do this because consumers have the right to know what they are eating. If people dont know what they are eating they wouldnt buy the foods.
The consumers should be able to know what they are eating and how much of it there is in the food. They can be many risks if the goverment does not put lables on genetically engineered food. One risk is that if you do not put lables on then people with certain religious beliefs would break what they believe in if they cant eat it but they dont know they are. Also people who are allergic to certain types of food could also be injured by this because they could get allergic reactions from foods that they know they are allergic to but they dont know they are eating. The goverment could get sued by liability risks if they dont put lables on genetically engineered foods. Also more people woudnt buy it if it is not labled because they dont know id it is genetically engineered or not. It would be worse for the goverment and the consumers if the genetically engineered foods are not labled. For instance if someone ate a genetically engineered food and they were allergic to something in it the goverment could and would be sued for a lot of money, so it would just be better for everyone if the genetically engineered foods were labled.
Our group has also discoverd that if there were no lables on the genetically engineered foods then it would harm people a lot more then help people. It could ruin not only the goverment but also peoples lives.

"Should there be government regulations to protect the environment from genetically engineered crops?"

2.     Yes there should be goverment regulations to protect the enviorment from genetically engineered crops. There should be regulations to protect the enviorment from genetically engineered crops because many peope, animals, and plants could all be very harmed by genetically engineered crops.
Many animals could get harmed by genetically engineered crops because they could be eating something bad with genetically engineered foods in it and they wouldnt be able to do anything about it. This could be harmful to the plants because they could die very easily from the crops growing around them. There should be regulations on genetically engineered crops because they could interupt the food chain by killing to many plants and animals. The genetically engineered crops would  potentially deprive the enviorment of natural resources that have been left out of the genetic engineering. Other side effects would be injuring processes like crop rotation, depriving human beings from natural crops. The consumers should know what substances are added and what is in the crops. If there were no regulations then people would have no idea what they would be eating after awhile and that would be very harmful to all living things.
If  the goverment did not have regulations on gentically engineered crops then there would be many negative side effects to not only people, plants, and animals but also very harmful to the enviorment. If there regulations then there would be no natural crops and all genetically engineered and this could be very harmful to everyone.

Task #2

1. Yes, genetically engineered foods should be labled and on the lable they should say what is in it, and the amount.

2. Yes, genetically engineered foods are harmful to the enviorment, and they should be allowed under strict goverment regulations in case of an emergency or for the benefit of people.

Statement

Things get bad before they get better.

Enviormentalist

1. Although genetically engineered foods can be very harmful to people it could also help world hunger.
In fact, they note that many countries where hunger is a major problem do produce enough food to feed their population. Hunger, they argue, is not only a function of agricultural yield  it is also a function of mismanaged government and a series of other factors, which technology cannot resolve.

2. Agricultural biotechnology poses too many risks to human health and the environment, and that its use should be stopped. However, an overwhelming number of scientists from around the world emphatically dismiss these objections as unfounded.

3. The benefits should not be worth the risks because there is more reasons whys  there is world hunger like the goverment and we should not put so many peoples lives in danger and the enviorment if no one is sure that genetically engineered foods can actually sure world hunger. Genetically engineered foods might cure world hunger but why go through all the risks when there is not a 100% chance.

Background Information

1. Food Biotechnology is a application to modify genes of animals, plants, and microorganisms to create a new species which have desired production, marketing, or nutrition related properties called genetically engineered foods.

2. Genetically engineered foods  is the direct human manipulation of an organisms genetic material in a way that does not occur under natural conditions.

3. A benefit of genetically engineered foods are  to the biotech industries who make the money from the marketing and the creation of  Hepatitis B vaccine and genetically engineered human insulin.

4. Some potential risks of genetically engineered food are Future pesticide and herbicide tolerance,
Inadvertent elevation of the toxicity levels of food toxins which occur in foods naturally,Environmental damage due to cross-pollination, Environmental damage from disturbing ecosystems, and Allergens: both increased allergens and the inability of people who are allergic to know what they are eating.
